BLOCK COLOUR JUMPER

Ever have so many ideas that you don’t know what to do with them? And ever do nothing at all instead? Yeah, me too. We’re already into the second month of 2018 and I feel like I only just got my engines running. At the moment, every infinitesimal job I undertake seems to take an immense amount of effort and deserves a reward immediately afterwards. Cleaned the house? Watch three hours of Daisy Ridley interviews on YouTube! Sent an email? Have a Kit Kat! Managed to exist today? Good job!

I jest. Except not really. Despite saying that I feel like I only just got my engines running, my brain is always somewhere in hyperspace, planning, speculating and creating possible scenarios that may never even happen. I worry so much about what might happen in a situation that I scare myself out of taking the first steps. How counterintuitive is that? And yet, I know I’m not the only person who operates this way! Where are my serial procrastinators at?

Anyway, I’m trying not to be too hard on myself. It’s better that I complete one task a day than nothing at all, and to be fair, the latter was my mode of operation for most of January! So, to counter this lack of productivity, here are my plans for the next week or so:

1. Gather my nondescript thoughts into short term and long term goals.

2. Narrow those goals into a series of SMART goals.

3. Create a weekly timetable organised by areas that need concentration.

4. Create daily to-do lists made up of my SMART goals.

5. Schedule time for fun and creativity!

I hope that enacting this plan may put my head into a better space, and if all things go well, I can finally get my butt into gear! Honestly, although I have a lot of ambition, and even motivation in some ways, I do struggle to force myself into action – a classic anxiety trait!

If this is something you struggle with, too, I’d love to hear your advice!

WHAT I’M WEARING

The block colour jumper has been a staple in wardrobes for well over a year now, and the trend doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon! I’m obsessed with the fact that this particular option is in the thematic colours of The Last Jedi! I can’t say today’s post features a full outfit as such, but the beauty in a block colour jumper is that it’s so easy to throw on over a pair of jeans. This cropped pair are old favourites!
